PRACTICE TEAM
The Practice Manager
Our practice manager, Miss Anne Coventry (full-time at Baillieston) is
responsible for the overall management of the practice. It is their job to ensure
that the day to day organisation and administration is managed in an efficient,
caring manner allowing the doctors to devote as much time as possible to caring
for their patients. Both of our practice managers would be happy to discuss any
complaints or suggestions you have which may help to improve our service.

Sister Margo McLaughlin (Part-time - Baillieston and Shettleston Health Centres)
Sister Janie Howard (Part-time - Shettleston Health Centre)
Our practice nurses, like the doctors, may be seen by appointment. They can often
help with problems that patients may not wish to see the doctor about. They also
provide many of the preventative monitoring and screening services for the practice,
and deal with the following: Asthma clinic, Diabetic clinic, Injections for foreign
travel, Cervical screening, HRT clinic, Weight reduction, Influenza vaccinations, IHD Clinics and other Specialised Clinics.

Clerical And Secretarial Staff
Our team of receptionists is led by a senior receptionist who oversees the smooth running of the reception area and records room. The first person you will meet at the surgery is the receptionist. Most of our receptionists are part time. They answer the phone, take appointments, prescriptions and messages, do paperwork, file notes and try to keep the surgery running smoothly. Sometimes emergencies occur, which delay appointments. Please do not blame the receptionists!
We have typists, based at Baillieston Health Centre, who type all referral letters, organise hospital appointments, as well as doing other secretarial work.

syringing, blood tests and cardiography.
General
Practitioner Training
Our practice is a training practice. Our registrars are fully qualified and have a great deal of hospital experience. We generally have two attached to our practice for 12 months and patients find their fresh, enthusiastic approach adds to the healthcare we provide. We also have a GP retainer, Dr Liana McMillan, who will be attached to the practice for five years. The registrars usually become general practitioner partners after completing their training, and are at all times encouraged to seek advice when required from the practice partners.
When booking an appointment you may be asked if you would consult with one of
the registrars who are excellent doctors, appointed by the practice. We are confident
that they will give our patients modern, effective and caring treatment.
