CONFIDENTIALITY
Confidentiality of patient records is maintained at the highest level by all clinical and reception staff. The practice complies with the Data Protection Act. The Data Protection Act gives you the right to access information which the Primary Care Trust hold about you. It is the patient's legal right to view their records. If a copy of your records is required, a fee will be charged. This should be requested in writing to our practice managers, Anne Coventry for Bailleston and May Robertson for Shettleston. Information is only passed on where people have a genuine need for it in your and everyone's interests.
DISABLED ACCESS
At both Baillieston and Shettleston Health Centres, there are reserved
car spaces for the disabled, near the main entrance. All patient services at Baillieston are provided at ground
floor level; however, at Shettleston a lift is provided to access the first floor. A disabled patients' WC is
provided at both health centres. If access proves difficult to any of our disabled patients we would be happy to
consider any suggestions for improvement.
Freedom Of Information
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 came into force on 1st January 2005 and enables any person
requesting information from a public body to receive that information, subject to certain exemptions. The
Practice Publication Scheme Document is available to view. Please contact the practice manager for more
information.
Aggressive or Violent Patients
This practice is totally against any violent or aggressive behaviour
on the premises. Any patient being violent or abusive to a member of staff or other persons on the premises will be
immediately removed from the premises. In extreme cases we may summon the police to remove offenders.
